The Timber Production Journey
Chop:
This initial stage involves sourcing and preparing the raw materials. For our wood, we meticulously choose from a variety of sustainable and responsibly-managed forests. Each piece of wood is chopped to exact specifications, creating the basic framework for our unique eyewear.
Shape:
Once the wood has been prepared, it enters the shaping stage. Here, our skilled artisans carve each piece into the distinct, iconic shapes of our sunglasses. Precision and an eye for detail ensure every pair has its own unique character while maintaining consistent quality.
Smooth:
The next stage of the process is smoothing. This is where the rough edges from the shaping process are eliminated. Through a combination of traditional handcrafting techniques and modern machinery, each pair of glasses is made to feel soft and comfortable for the wearer.
Polish:
The final stage is polishing. Each pair of sunglasses is buffed and polished to a high sheen, accentuating the unique grain patterns of the wood and the vibrant colors of the acetate. This step also includes the addition of protective finishes that help to make the sunglasses durable and resistant to the elements.
